I have worked in various capacities and gained rich experience in the field of dairy, poultry, livestock farming and animal husbandry in terms of project formulation, appraisal, monitoring and evaluation. I have rich experience of training and consulting on these topics:

  • As an independent consultant: Prepared/formulated following bankable projects:
    • Prepared Area Development Plan (ADP): ‘Goat Farming’ in Sinnar TQ. and
      Beed Dist. to be implanted by NGOs for JLGs. NABARD, RO, PUNE
    • Salvaging and Rearing of Male Buffalo Calves for a Company in the District – Uttar Dinajpur, North Bengal. TFO: Rs. 84 Lakh.
    • Salvaging and Rearing of male buffalo Calves Scheme -  Industrial unit of 1000 calves in Nashik and Dhule  districts of Maharashtra. Project cost: Rs.84.00 lakh
    • Integrated Dairy Farm: 10 Buffaloes/Cross bred cows with 20 female calves, vermi-compost, milking machine, milk parlour etc. in many districts of Maharashtra under “Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme” (DEDS).  Project cost: Rs.14.76 lakh
    • Emu breeding, Emu Hatchery, Feed mill etc.: ranging from 10 pairs to 100 pairs of emu for Aurangabad, Ahmednagar, Dhule, Nasik, Jalgaon,  Pune, Beed, Thane, Raigad districts. Project cost: emu breeding-ranging from Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 50 Lakh. Feed mill cost (1 MT/day)-Rs.16lakh. 
    • Goat Breeding Farm: Ranging from 200 to 500 goats in Osmanabad, Nasik, Dhule, Ahmednagar districts. Project cost: Ranging from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 25 Lakh.
    • Mini Dairy Farm: 10 Buffaloes/Cross bred cows. Project cost: Rs. 3 lakh. in many districts of Maharashtra.
    • Establishment of poultry breeding farms with low input technology birds- Vanaraja and Giriraja. Project cost: up to Rs. 30 lakh. in Nasik, Dhule, Ahmednagar, Jalgaon  districts of Maharashtra. 
    • Establishment of feed godown, feed mixing unit, feed analytical unit –Rs.16.00 lakhs in Nasik, Dhule, Ahmednagar, Jalgaon districts of Maharashtra. 
    • Retail poultry dressing unit (up to 300 birds per day)-Rs.5.00 lakhs in Nasik, Dhule, Ahmednagar, Jalgaon districts of Maharashtra.
    • Central grower unit: (6250 and 12,500 birds per batch and 4 batches per year) –Rs.10 lakhs and Rs.20.00 lakhs respectively in Nasik, Dhule, Ahmednagar, Jalgaon  districts of Maharashtra.

    • I have been empaneled as Consultant (AH & Dairy) up to March 2015 for International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) funded Tejaswini Rural Women Empowerment Programme of MAVIM to support the implementation of the livelihood programme. Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal is known as MAVIM and it is the State Women's Development Corporation of Government of Maharashtra. MAVIM has been declared as a Nodal agency by Government of Maharashtra to implement various Women Empowerment Programme through Self Help Groups (SHGs).

    • Third Party Monitoring and Evaluation of Two Animal Husbandry Scheme

    • Jeevandhara Dairy by M/s. Ravikiran Marketing and Infrastructure Dev. Pvt. Ltd Dhule - 424 001, Total project cost: Rs. 612 Lakh. Capacity: Milk processing unit of 1.25 Lakh Litre per day (LLPD).
    • Concurrent Evaluation of National Project for Cattle and Buffalo Breeding: M.P. Livestock and poultry development corporation, BHOPAL, Madhya Pradesh.
    • Nathani poultry Farm: Associated with team for conducting study on feasibility of establishing a commercial layer farm with a captive feed mill. Capacity: 52000Layer/year. Total project cost: Rs.175 Lakh.
    • Mid Term Appraisal of the Centrally Sponsored Schemes under Macro Management in Agriculture - Study in respect of Maharashtra State. 
    • Evaluation Study on "National Ram / Buck Production  and Programme for rabbit development (NRBPPR) and preparation of Detailed Project Report on small ruminants and rabbit development.
    • Study of Review of progress on Food Park Scheme of Ministry of Food processing of India (MoFPI) in Maharashtra. Name of Food Park:  Godavary Valley Wine Park - Vinchur Nasik district.
    • Evaluation and impact analysis study of centrally sponsored scheme “Assistance to state poultry farms”: Kerala state, Kerala State Poultry Development Corporation: Duck breeding farm and Grampriya Layer Breeding Farm.
    • Mid Term Appraisal of the Centrally Sponsored Schemes – Development of extinct breeds of livestock and poultry: Small ruminant animals (Osmanabadi and Sangamneri Goat) study in Maharashtra State.

    • Conducted impact analysis study on National Project for Cattle and Buffalo Breeding (NPCBB) Phase II implemented by Maharashtra Livestock Development Board (MLDB) Akola, Govt. of Maharashtra.
    • Study conducted under NABARD Consultancy Services (NABCONS) Wholly-owned subsidiary of NABARD on Impact Evaluation of Cattle Breed Improvement Program (CBIP) undertaken by J K Trust Gram Vikas Yojana, Gurugram, in Haryana State.
  • In Technical Services Department (TSD) with NABARD, an apex financial institution (26 years):
    • Retired as Deputy General Manager (Technical) of animal husbandry
    • Performed credit planning for animal husbandry and dairy sector of the state
    • Provided institutional support required for infra-structural development

    • Mainly involved in the organization and management of rural milk procurement through village co-operative agencies
    • Provided technical inputs on ‘Anand Pattern’ of Amul.
    • Organized and managed oilseed procurement through Village Growers Co-operatives on ‘Anand Pattern’ in Bhavnagar Vegetable Project (BVP).
